2015 COLOR OF THE YEAR: MARSALA

The new color of the year has been revealed…

Pantone’s 2015 color of the year: Marsala!

Say goodbye to radiant orchid, and helloooo marsala!

For over 50 years, the Pantone Color Institute forecasts a color of the year that is foretelling of all designer and consumer trends. Analysts derive to this conclusion by studying runway, art, fashion, economic and even political trends.

This year’s choice, marsala, has similar burgundy hues with a mix of reddish-brown. In a company press release, Pantone described the color as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red.” Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

However, this muted color seems to evoke a love or hate relationship.

While some found the color sophisticated and sensual, other have downright associated it with bodily functions and cheap wine.  New York magazine’s The Cut went as far as calling the color “icky.”

Celebs seem to be fans, but what’s your take on it? Yay or nay?

Here are a few items that caught my eye…
